Polished Pebbles for Interiors, Planters & Water Features

Polished pebbles are tumbled to a smooth, glossy surface so the natural colour of the stone shows at full depth even when dry. They are the finish to choose for interiors, feature planters, water bowls and any decorative use seen up close.

Polishing does two things: it deepens colour, and it makes the stone pleasant to touch and easy to wipe clean. That is why polished pebbles dominate indoor use — vases, trays, candle arrangements, reception planters, spa and bathroom decor — where an unpolished stone would look dry and dusty under artificial light.

Outdoors, polished pebbles hold their appeal best in water features and shaded courtyards. In open sun and heavy foot traffic the gloss dulls over time as fine grit abrades the surface, so unpolished stone is often the more sensible outdoor choice for large spreads.

Available in white, black, grey, brown and mixed tones, in retail and bulk quantities.

Buying guide

  • Rinse before use — polished stone shows dust immediately.
  • In water features, polished stone stays looking wet-dark permanently.

Polished Pebbles — questions we are asked

What is the difference between polished and unpolished pebbles?
Polished pebbles are tumbled to a glossy surface that shows the stone's colour at full depth when dry. Unpolished pebbles keep a natural matte texture, hide dust better and are usually preferred for large outdoor areas.
Does the polish wear off?
Indoors and in water it lasts well. In heavy foot traffic and abrasive outdoor conditions the gloss gradually dulls, which is why unpolished stone is often recommended for walking surfaces.
Can polished pebbles go in an aquarium?
Use only pebbles confirmed as suitable for aquarium use with your enquiry — suitability depends on the stone type and how it behaves in tank water. Tell us it is for an aquarium and we will advise on what we can supply for that purpose.
