Unpolished Pebbles — Natural Matte Landscaping Stone
Unpolished pebbles keep the stone's natural matte surface. They are the workhorse product for outdoor landscaping — better underfoot, better at hiding dust, and usually the more economical option when you are covering real area.
Without a gloss layer, the surface has slightly more grip and does not show scuffs, which matters on pathways, driveway margins and any area people actually walk on. The colour reads softer than polished stone of the same type, and deepens when wet after rain or watering.
For large gardens, commercial landscaping, rooftop gardens and drainage layers, unpolished is normally the right specification. Save polished stone for pots, interiors and water features where the finish is the point.
Supplied in white, grey, black, brown and mixed tones across several size grades, retail and bulk, dispatched across India.

Buying guide
- Default to unpolished for anything larger than a few square metres outdoors.
- Choose 10–20 mm for general cover, 20–40 mm where water runs or vehicles pass.
- Lay over landscape fabric to stop soil migrating up into the stone.
- Rinse on site if the batch has settled dust from transit — the colour lifts noticeably.
Where unpolished pebbles are used
Unpolished Pebbles — questions we are asked
- Are unpolished pebbles rough?
- No. They are naturally tumbled and rounded, just without a glossy surface. The texture is matte rather than sharp — crushed aggregate is what has angular edges.
- Which is better for a garden, polished or unpolished?
- For open garden beds and pathways, unpolished is generally better: it costs less to cover area, grips better underfoot and hides dust. Polished is better for pots, interiors and water features.
- Can unpolished pebbles be used for drainage?
- Coarser unpolished grades are commonly used as a drainage layer in planters and beds. Share your application and we will suggest the right grade.
